3 has announced today that they will be releasing the iPhone in Hong Kong and Macau in this year of 2008. No other details were given which is same as in other iPhone announcements done in other countries. Here is the official statement:-

Went to see Victoria Park on Hong Kong Island. It is first time I visited too. A nice place with lots of trees and greenery. It is a bit far from Tsuen Wan. We had to change few trains to get there.

There are at least 26 countries where iPhone will be launched within next 6 months. I do hope Hong Kong is added to this growing list of countries later. I am on PEOPLES network right now and if iPhone is locked any network in Hong Kong I might have to port my number to them. [...]
